As part of AdvaMed’s Value of Technology public awareness campaign, AdvaMed President and CEO Steve Ubl is holding a number of editorial board meetings with major news media in key geographical regions. The purpose of these meetings is to communicate our key messages about the value medical technology delivers not only to individual patients but to the health care system in general and to discuss the Association’s legislative priorities.

Joining Steve at these meetings are high-level executives from local companies who can share their insights on the regulatory and reimbursement opportunities and challenges that affect the industry. On September 19, AdvaMed Emerging Growth Company Council (EGCC) member TyRx Pharman CEO William Edelman provided a small company perspective during a meeting with the editorial board of the Newark Star-Ledger, the largest circulation newspaper in New Jersey. William was accompanied by fellow New Jersey executives Ed Ludwig, chairman, president and CEO of BD (and AdvaMed Chair), and Steve MacMillan, president and CEO of Stryker. The meeting covered a wide range of topics, including updating Medicare payment polices for advanced diagnostics and remote monitoring technologies, AdvaMed’s health care reform proposal and patent reform.
