Sectors

Members get involved in one or more of AdvaMed committees or sector working groups to share ideas, voice opinions, and to make a positive impact contributing to the overall advancement of the industry.  These groups are comprised of senior-level executives from other member companies and AdvaMed staff working together to solve issues of common concern. 

These groups are excellent vehicles to network and benchmark with your peers and discuss business issues and/or opportunities of mutual interest.  Groups cover our major areas of focus, including regulatory, reimbursement, international and legal.

Blood Sector

Fosters a healthier blood industry worldwide by improving reimbursement and regulatory processes for blood technologies by identifying and addressing key legal, economic and patient access issues related to the safety and availability of blood and blood products.

Diagnostic Sector

Establishes AdvaMed's Diagnostic policy and direction, ensuring worldwide access to the benefits of IVD medical technology by identifying and resolving legal, regulatory, economic, and patient outcomes issues.

Diagnostic Imaging Sector

Focuses on the reimbursement, regulatory and other policy issues affecting this segment of our membership. Imaging services underwent dramatic payment reductions under Medicare as a result of the Deficit Reduction Act.  Preventing additional Medicare payment cuts in the future is a major goal of the sector, along with monitoring emerging regulatory issues facing imaging companies.

Ophthalmic Devices Sector

Addresses product review issues related to ophthalmic devices.

Orthopedic Products Sector

Ensures strategic development and implementation of policies that will advance worldwide access to the benefit of orthopedic medical technologies by identifying and resolving legal, regulatory and economic issues.  Essential to our success will be the development of strong working partnerships focused on the resolution of common issues with government regulators, standards organizations, as well as payor, provider, and practitioner groups.

Wound Management Sector Mission

AdvaMed's Wound Management Sector represents a broad array of innovative medical technologies that can effectively treat chronic wounds, including: advanced specialty dressing, bioengineered skin substitutes, wound closure devices, hyperbaric oxygen equipment and pressure relief beds.
